Latest panda news from secretfatty.net

After a week caracterised by general unpleasantness, Secret Fatty’s resident panda correspondent is pleased to be able to bring our readers some happy news from Chengdu in western China.
The furry inhabitants of Ya’an Bifengxia breeding base proved themselves to be more than just bamboo-guzzling soft-toy muses when the Sichuan province was struck by a 6.6 magnitude earthquake on early Saturday morning, immediately making for the highest tree-tops and most importantly not eating them.
They then refused to come down for several hours, though whether this was because they feared further quakes or had just fulfilled their movement quota for the day remains unclear.
Local sources confirm that the sensible beasts are now back to their usual activities, i.e not very much.
